AI-assisted storyboarding
Turn a topic or script into a structured sequence of narration, visual beats and editable timeline content.
Animator is designed for desktop Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Your browser may have limited editing, AI or export support, but you can continue and try the workspace.
About Animator
Animator is a browser-based whiteboard animation maker for creating lessons, explainers, training videos and product stories. It combines AI-assisted storyboarding, talking characters, natural voiceovers, visual assets and a complete timeline editor in one workspace.
From idea to editable project
Animator can help build a useful first draft, but it does not stop at generation. Narration, text, visuals, characters, handwriting, timing, audio and animation remain available on the timeline so you can shape the result yourself.
What Animator does
Turn a topic or script into a structured sequence of narration, visual beats and editable timeline content.
Animate text, equations, diagrams and visual explanations with configurable drawing hands.
Build presenter-led videos with voice, lip sync, blinking, gaze, expressions and natural movement.
Generate narration, record a voiceover or import audio and align it with the visual story.
Move, trim, layer and replace every generated element using a multi-track editing workspace.
Use line-art SVGs, images, Lottie animations, templates, characters and your own imported media.
Create on a supported desktop browser without installing a traditional heavyweight video editor.
Produce lessons, explainers, training material and product stories for sharing or publishing.
Animator is based on FreeCut, an open-source browser video editor released under the MIT License. FreeCut provides a strong timeline-editing and browser-rendering foundation.
Animator is an independent project that extends that foundation with whiteboard animation, AI storyboarding, talking characters, handwriting, lesson-generation workflows, specialised visual assets and AnimatorAI™ services. FreeCut’s authors and contributors deserve credit for the original foundation; this relationship does not imply that they endorse Animator.
View licensing and reference informationAnimator isn’t backed by big corporations—at least not yet. It’s being built by a small, passionate team from Australia who genuinely care about creating a tool we love using ourselves, and we’re excited to share it with you.
We are building Animator around practical creative workflows: less time fighting complicated software, more time explaining ideas clearly. Feedback from educators, creators, trainers and small businesses directly shapes what we improve next.
AI-generated work should remain editable instead of becoming a locked result.
Powerful animation tools should still feel understandable and approachable.
The creative workspace should be available without a traditional desktop installation.
AI should assist the creative process while leaving the user in control.
The free editor should remain genuinely useful for creating and exporting videos.
Create a lesson, explainer or product story directly in your browser.
